Wirral-based designer store Smudge Boutique recently captivated Hollywood, showing off their designer brands at several VIP events during a trip to LA. Owned by Alison Dunn, Lauren Casey and Carina Walsh, Smudge Boutique showcased their labels during the Beverley Hills Film Festival, the Festival Gala Dinner at the prestigious Beverley Hills Hotel and at the world famous Santa Monica Pier.
Smudge Boutique enjoyed liaising with celebrity clients on the stateside trip, including actor Barry Sloane and his actress wife Kate Drew Jones. Former Hollyoaks star Barry is a successful actor in Los Angeles, having starred in hit TV show Revenge, several movies and the new ABC show The Whispers. Smudge Boutique styled his wife, Katy for a plethora of red-carpet events including the premier of his new film “Set Fire to the Stars” starring Elijah Wood.
Smudge Boutique bring over 50 cutting-edge fashion brands to their clients, retailing across their main store in West Kirby Wirral, online, at exclusive events and pop-up boutiques. They stock the hottest labels, ensuring their clients have access to only the best.

Smudge Boutique use their trips to Los Angeles to stay at the forefront of fashion, Smudge Boutique’s Lauren said: “it is important for us to pick up the LA vibe, see what stylish people are wearing there and what new fashion we can bring back to the UK”.
Smudge Boutique are at the forefront of international style, with a trip to Italy also paving the way for fashion inspiration, and Alison has met with the Head of Fashion at the UK Embassy in Milan to discuss trends.
Alison said: “In Italy there is an inspirational mix of street style and cutting edge fashion. In la Rinascente department store in Milan, you see the trends which will soon hit the UK High Street. I love visiting Portofino as you see a spectrum of the world’s top designers and the fashion is amazing”
Smudge Boutique have featured in several high profile events at home too. Their fashion brands were showcased at the prestigious Liverpool Fashion and Lifestyle Show in March held at Hilton Hotel and at the Black Tie Charity Dinner at Liverpool’s Titanic Hotel in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
The designer brands stocked by Smudge Boutique are loved by a host of celebrities. They carry a wide range of designers such as hot Californian label Wildfox , which no self-respecting LA fashionista is seen without, and high fashion brands Opening Ceremony, Serge DeNimes, Alice McCall and Stylestalker. Wildfox is often worn by Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Katy Perry and it is frequently worn to festivals such as Coachella.
Smudge Boutique clients can take home their own taste of Hollywood glamour when they shop at the store; their Finlay & Co sunglasses were recently worn by Hollywood actress Jessica Alba. No wonder footballer’s wives and celebrities regularly pop into the store to browse the glamorous stock.
